I had another report about that by email.
I asked if they used Avast, yes was the answer.

Avast is well known for false positives, I used it on my desktop for a few years (have since switched to MS Essential) and still use it on my laptop.

I've seen on other forums complaints like this and it always turns out to be Avast.
It's a good AV but it has that one small annoying problem.

I guess "better safe than sorry" is the catch phrase of the day but "I'd rather switch than fight".

I couldn't help but notice that most of the sites listed there offer crapware (also known as freeware). It seems the only way to be popular is to bribe people.

As for your statement that the site has brought FSF many new members, how many have been active in the past 30 days? The site gets a few active members, but the great majority of those who find us via that site, contribute squat.

I think I'll look at the statistics. Rolling Eyes

Any free advertising pays for us.
We have a banner at Avsim that has over 100 hits in 6 months, that may not seem to be much but it's more than none at all.
Greekman did a review that was posted at flightsims home page and it drew nearly 40 new members.
That may not seem like much to anyone but me but it's big for us and not big for sites that have 20-30 thousand members.
The reviews posted at Carenado draw much more hits than reviews that are just posted here and not linked to other sites.
