|
|
Hi All.
I am a newbie and this is my first posting, well at the ripe age of 56 yrs young, I have discovered the fun and excitement of flight sims, (I am ex British Tank Regiment so have always used Tank Sims) I have a bit of a problem that I would like advice on. When I discovered flight sims, I wanted the best so I was told to buy the MFS X Deluxe, so I did so, I then saw a demo video of the PMDG and thought it looked fantastic doing all the pre flight checks and being able to click all the switches as a real pilot would do, so I wanted the PMDG, I purchased the PMDG 737, I have paid for it but it has not srrived up to yet, since then I have been told that I will not be able to fly it with my MFS X, so I now have to make a choice, which is the better of the two, do I get rid of my MSF X Deluxe and buy the MFS 2004 so I can use the PMDG, or do I get rid of the PMDG and keep the other. any help gratefully accepted.
Regards to all |

Another youngster.
What are your computer specs? that will be the determining factor in how well FSX will run. _________________ CrashGordon

Welcome! To me your system seems more suited to ruin FS9 full out...but.
If you like the way it runs FSX then by all means keep that.
There are plenty of add ons for both.
With a 40gig h/d you will be limited to add on scenery and some larger aircraft.
You started off with jet liners, your better off starting with single engine props and graduating to airliners, less chance of becoming disgusted with difficulties.

Hi Radarman.
Thank you for your reply, I am a bit confused you mention FS9, what is that? I have MFS X Delux and a PMDG Add On. The PMDG seems to have a lot more in depth realism than the aircraft on my MFS X, can you please tell me do the add ons for MFS X have the same in depth realism with all the switches that have to be operated like the PMDG?? also I am hoping to install a 160 Gig hard drive into my pc next weekend. |

I full agree with RadarMan.If your tention is to not spend $ for an upgrade-actually you need a brand new system for FSX- it is better to stick and enjoy FS9.Though some more Gigs of Disk Space necessary _________________

Sorry, FS9 is 2004.
They (PMDG) make aircraft for FSX also.
http://www.precisionmanuals.com/
You can try a demo version from Captsim here. (FSX Version)
http://www.captainsim.com/products/b767/demo.html\
They also make the C-130 one of the aircraft that we all love.
A new larger h/d like your planning is perfect.

Hi Radarman.
You say that PMDG make add ons for MFS X, does that mean I may be able to run this PMDG 737 NG 600 700 on my MFS X ??? also you mentioned the C130 Hercules that we all love, I must say, I definitely agree with you, I left the Tank Regiment British Army and Transfered to the Parachute Regiment, and we jumped out of the Hurc or HurcyBird as we called it. Best aircraft that has ever been produced. |

No the one you have is for 2004 not FSX,
http://www.precisionmanuals.com/pages/product/73G.html
The problem that you would run into would be that the gauges won't work, there may be other minor problems but the main is the gauges.
Yes the C-130 that they made is a beauty.
Take a look in the FSX military screenshot forum and you find a dozen series of screenshots that our members have listed.
I bought FSX Deluxe also than when Acceleration cam out I bought that mainly for the two (SP1 and SP2) FSX patches built into it.'
That way I didn't have to patch the Sim twice after loading it.
You also get more aircraft and some nice scenery add-on.

Asking about airliners is better answered by some others here, I fly mainly GA aircraft.
